SIGNAL · UNITY FOR APPLE TV

Welcome to Unity.

Live TV, movies and series. Beautifully connected.

STEP INSIDE UNITY

NO SEPARATE LIVE TV APP. NO DISCONNECTED MOVIE WORLD.

One home for everything.

01 / THE UNITY EXPERIENCE

One TV screen. Every kind of entertainment.

Unity is Signal’s foundation: Live TV is the home you can always return to, while movies, shows, recommendations, previews and media details live alongside it. Explore a film profile without losing the context behind it, move between the channel grid and cinematic catalogs, and return naturally to the television experience that started it all. Unity is a shared environment, not a stack of isolated destinations.

One connected surface • Context preserved • Shared navigation

02 / LIVE TELEVISION

Your channels. A living TV grid.

Live TV is the home of Unity. Browse a visual 4 × 3 channel grid with program artwork, channel names and Now & Next information. Move through pages, open your categories or guide, and choose a channel from the same television environment that connects the rest of Signal.

Visual channel grid • Program artwork • Now & Next • Channel pages

Preview a channel before you open it.

Focus a channel to see its live preview inside the grid. The current program, channel identity and upcoming information stay beside the picture, so you can explore what is on while keeping the rest of your channels in view.

Find the channels you want.

Open the category panel over the grid to move between All Channels, favorites and provider groups such as HD, Sports, Drama or News. Your channel view remains in the background as you narrow the selection.

See the schedule at a glance.

The electronic program guide brings channels, schedules and a live preview together. Scan upcoming programs and switch between channel groups from one view, with the selected program’s details close at hand.

The full guide, with more room.

Collapse the category rail to give the full program timetable more space. Current-program details and a live preview stay above the schedule, while episode alerts can appear in the same view. The guide adapts around what you want to explore without taking you out of Unity.

EPISODE ALERTS

The next episode finds you.

Follow episode updates from a title’s media profile. When a new-episode alert arrives, its artwork, season and episode number, air date and short description can appear over the TV experience. Your channels stay in view, so keeping up with a story feels like part of watching. Alert behavior depends on your settings and installed build.

03 / MOVIES & SERIES

A cinematic way to find what’s next.

Choose the way you explore: classic poster rows or the immersive 3D Cover Flow with reflective glass-floor styling. Resume your stories, browse recommendations and open rich title profiles in place.

CATALOG PREVIEWS

A little preview.
A whole world of discovery.

Take a guided look through Signal: live channels, cinematic catalogs, previews, floating trailers and the moments in between. Longer scenes and gentle transitions give each part of Unity room to breathe.

01 / IN THE CARD

Catch the mood of the story.

A preview plays in the focused catalog card. Keep the Cover Flow row around it, with other movies and series just beside your selection.

02 / IN CONTEXT

Let the details come to you.

Open the media profile beside your selection to explore the cast, ratings, seasons and episodes, with the catalog still visible behind it.

03 / KEEP EXPLORING

Go deeper. Keep your place.

Choose a full trailer from the profile, or return to browsing. Previews, title information and playback all belong to the same Unity experience.

Explore floating trailers

YOUR WATCH JOURNEY

Pick up the story. Keep the context.

Resume progress, favorites, connected Trakt watchlists and episode alerts stay close to the title you are exploring. Open a series profile to see viewing actions, cast and episodes together, then return to browsing without retracing a separate chain of screens. Sync behavior and available controls depend on your installed build.

Resume • Favorites • Trakt watchlists • Episode alerts

04 / MEDIA INFORMATION

The details live with the discovery.

Open a floating glass media profile while the title’s artwork and catalog stay visible. Cast portraits, seasons, episodes, ratings, favorites, Trakt actions and trailer controls belong to the same browsing experience. Move deeper into a story without losing the context that brought you there.

Cast • Seasons & episodes • Ratings • Favorites • Trailer actions

05 / SEAMLESS TRAILERS

From profile to trailer. Still in Unity.

Open a trailer directly from a movie or series profile and watch it in a floating cinema window. The title’s artwork, cast, episodes and surrounding catalog stay in place behind it. Close the trailer and continue exploring from the same spot—the experience stays connected from discovery to preview and back.

Floating trailer window • Your place preserved • One connected experience

06 / AETHERENGINE

One playback engine. One experience.

Signal uses AetherEngine for movies, episodes, Live TV and previews. On-screen controls bring together the timeline, source information, audio and subtitles. Live TV timeshift lets you navigate the buffered channel window, while temporary VOD caching and seek thumbnails support on-demand playback where available.

AetherEngine • Timeshift • VOD cache • Audio & subtitles • Visual seeking

THE VOD OVERLAY

Keep watching. Open a world of context.

Bring up movie or episode information directly over the picture. The now-playing overlay combines an overview, credits, playback progress, remaining time, cache and format details. Alongside it, the Spotlight Hub puts related titles within reach. Your viewing, playback information and discovery share the same screen.

Now playing • Progress & format • Spotlight Hub • Connected discovery

CAST WALL & EXPLORER

Meet the faces.
Follow their stories.

Open a cast member from the VOD overlay and explore the person behind the performance. A portrait, biography and credits lead into a wall of familiar titles and other roles. When you are ready, press Back to return to playback. A little curiosity becomes another way to discover what to watch.

From the VOD overlay • Actor biographies • Known-for wall • Back to playback

THE FULL EPISODE BROWSER

Your next episode.
The whole season.

Open the full episode browser from the VOD overlay to see the series laid out in one place. Switch between All Seasons and individual seasons, then explore episode artwork, titles, air dates and short descriptions. Select the episode you want, or press Back to return to what you were watching.

Season filters • Episode artwork & descriptions • Now-playing context

SKIP INTRO

Straight to the story.

When an intro marker is available, Signal brings a Skip Intro prompt to the corner of the picture. Select it to move past the opening without manually hunting along the timeline. The prompt stays compact, with the episode still in view.

UP NEXT

One story leads to the next.

As the current episode comes to a close, Up Next puts the following episode within reach. See its artwork, title and episode information, then choose Play Next Episode or Dismiss. The current picture stays visible behind the prompt.

07 / MAKE IT YOURS

From Live TV to full cinematic artwork—your choice.

Unity can take on different personalities. Keep the channel-first dashboard in focus, or make the entire screen feel like a movie and TV show universe with expansive background artwork and immersive title themes. Choose Classic rows or 3D Cover Flow, change ambient styles and visual intensity, organize channels, and tailor the player. Your navigation stays familiar even when the atmosphere changes.

Live TV themes • Cinematic full-screen artwork • Cover Flow • Ambient effects

CINEMATIC ARTWORK

Let the whole screen tell the story.

Give a film or series its own atmosphere with expansive background artwork and a themed title presentation. Movie details, cast, franchise connections and viewing actions remain part of Unity, while Classic rows or 3D Cover Flow give you different ways to browse.

Full-screen artwork • Title themes • Cast & franchise context

08 / CONNECTED SERVICES

Your services, in one place.

Connect compatible debrid services and provider repositories for your own on-demand sources. Signal keeps its catalogs, artwork and player together while supported add-ons contribute stream links. Regular MediaFlow Proxy and MediaFlow Proxy Light can be configured at app level for eligible playback paths.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND SIGNAL

Entertainment isn't a collection of apps. It's one experience.

We built Signal around a simple conviction: television shouldn't be fragmented. A channel you're watching, a film you're curious about, a trailer, a cast member, and the next episode should feel like parts of the same story. Unity keeps discovery, live programming and playback in conversation with each other—without sending you through a maze of disconnected interfaces.

01 · LIVE TV, ALWAYS PART OF UNITY

The living room starts with television.

Visual channel cards, a full electronic program guide, categories, Now & Next information and the Quick Guide work together. Live previews give you a glimpse of what's on while the same interface stays ready for a movie, a show or a favorite channel.

02 · YOUR STORIES CONTINUE

Trakt, Resume and your watch journey.

Bring connected Trakt watchlists and recommendations into discovery. Resume movies and episodes from where you left off, follow your favorites and keep your viewing history relevant. The goal is continuity, not starting over each time you browse.

03 · MORE THAN A DETAILS PAGE

A media profile with a world inside.

Signal's VOD overlay brings cast portraits and the cast wall, episode cards, ratings, trailers, artwork, favorites and source actions into one layered media experience. Discover the people behind a title without losing the surrounding catalog.

04 · PLAYBACK THAT BELONGS TOGETHER

Powered throughout by AetherEngine.

AetherEngine is Signal's common playback foundation for Live TV, previews, movies and shows. Live timeshift provides a window to navigate recent programming, while on-demand caching helps manage playback data. Cache behavior, source compatibility and available controls vary by build and stream.

05 · CONNECTIONS, NOT ADD-ON MAZES

Debrid and MediaFlow at the app level.

Connect supported debrid accounts to resolve your own compatible on-demand sources. Signal also supports app-level MediaFlow Proxy configuration—including regular and Light variants—so eligible traffic can use your configured proxy across supported playback paths, rather than requiring a separate proxy setting inside each individual add-on. Routing still depends on the source and integration.

06 · YOUR SCREEN, YOUR RULES

Unity can change its entire mood.

Keep the classic Live TV-centered atmosphere or let movies and shows fill the experience with cinematic artwork. Explore visual themes, ambient effects, 3D Cover Flow, classic poster rows, transparency and player preferences. Customization changes the presentation without breaking the underlying Unity.

THE VISION BEHIND SIGNAL

Not just everything in one app.
Everything belonging together.

Unity isn't a menu of unrelated destinations. It's a shared television environment where Live TV, discovery, media information, artwork, playback and personalization remain part of the same experience.

BUILT FROM AN IDEA · REFINED THROUGH REAL-WORLD TESTING · DESIGNED FOR THE LONG TERM
“

FROM THE CREATOR · ISSAC.JAY

Signal began with a conviction: entertainment should not be divided into separate apps, disconnected screens and isolated features. I envisioned Unity as a single living television space, where Live TV, cinematic discovery, cast and episode information, streaming sources, artwork, previews and playback interact as parts of the same experience.

Before building this vision into Signal, I personally reached out to developers and shared the concept of a unified entertainment experience. Within days of those conversations, I saw other apps begin presenting ideas that looked strikingly similar. The timing did not feel random to me. I felt that an idea I had shared in good faith had been taken, and that experience was deeply upsetting.

I cannot independently establish what influenced another developer or prove that any specific app copied my work. But I can speak clearly about what I experienced, why the sequence of events raised serious concerns for me, and why I believe creators deserve honesty, acknowledgment and respect when they share original ideas.

What I felt was missing from those other approaches is still the heart of Signal: Unity is not merely multiple services under one roof. It is one connected environment, where each layer understands and complements the others. The goal is not another menu of separate destinations; it is television that feels continuous, personal and alive.

Turning that vision into an actual Apple TV app has taken sustained development, difficult technical decisions, repeated testing, setbacks and countless refinements. I am committed to supporting and evolving Signal for the long term. This project is my way of standing behind the idea I shared—and building the complete experience I always imagined.

ONE PLATFORM · MANY CONNECTIONS

Every part of television.
Working in harmony.

Signal brings together playback, discovery, service connections and personal preferences. Features vary by version and connected provider; upcoming capabilities are identified separately.

01 / LIVE SOURCES

Channels DVR, M3U & Xtream Codes

Bring compatible Live TV sources into the same channel-first environment, with a visual grid, guide information, channel categories and Quick Guide. Source setup and available metadata depend on your provider and configuration.

02 / DISCOVERY

TMDB-powered context & artwork

Discover rich film and series metadata, cast information, posters, backdrops and recommendations through supported metadata integrations. The result is a living media world rather than a plain list of files.

03 / WATCHING

VOD information while you watch

Signal's distinctive vision for its VOD overlay is to make meaningful information accessible in the playback experience: cast and title context, episodes, media details and relevant controls without turning discovery into an entirely separate app. The overlay continues to evolve.

04 / YOUR LIBRARY

Trakt, Resume & continuity

Keep viewing progress, connected watchlists, favorites and recommendations close to the action. Resume is about returning to the story you were watching, not retracing a maze of screens.

05 / SMART PLAYBACK

VOD cache & Live TV timeshift

Navigate buffered Live TV and use temporary on-demand playback caching where supported. Signal continues refining the way cache progress and playback state are presented.

06 / INTEGRATIONS

MediaFlow across supported paths

Configure regular MediaFlow Proxy or MediaFlow Proxy Light at app level, rather than repeating settings inside every compatible add-on. Routing depends on the source and supported integration.

07 / PERSONALIZATION

Make the entire experience yours

Choose between Classic catalog rows and 3D Cover Flow, change ambient visuals, adjust playback preferences and organize your channel experience. A dedicated on/off setting for Classic-row reflections is planned independently of 3D reflections.

08 / STAY CONNECTED

Notifications & what's next

Episode-related alerts, upcoming viewing information and other notification experiences are part of Signal's ongoing development. Their availability and behavior depend on device support and the installed build.
